Welcome to iconmakerawards, an elite, unique icon contest for the best icon makers out there! You must first apply to become a member. DO NOT--I repeat--DO NOT click "join" at the top of this page. If you do so, you will be automatically disqualified. You must comment to the application post, follow the rules for applying, and have your icons judged before you can join. We only accept those that are creative and of high-quality.
The idea of this community is to recognize the talented icon-makers out there, by allowing them to submit some of their very best icons, from any fandoms or of any actresses/actors, and have the public vote. The member that recieves the highest number of votes (users vote for several icons each, and the member that receives the most overall votes) will be awarded with a huge shiny banner and will be allowed to post his/her work (including icons, blends, tutorials, etc...) in the community for the next two weeks for people to see and envy.
DON'T complain if you don't get in. We're looking for the best, and we hope that this is something you can strive towards. :) If you don't get in the first time, you may re-apply 2 weeks later if you think you've improved. I encourage you to re-apply later if you don't get in the first time.
Timeline: -Monday through the next Thursday night. You have around 2 weeks to enter! -Voting starts Friday am and ends Sunday pm. -Winners are announced Monday.
Rules for applying: read thoroughly before applying for membership 1. To apply, simply comment to the application post with 10-15 of your best icons and a link to where you post your icons. 2. Indicate whether or not you want constructive criticism. Otherwise, if you are not accepted, we will simply say "no." If you do want advice, however, we'll tell you what we think you need to do to improve. 3. If you are initially rejected, you may re-apply at least 2 weeks later when you think you have improved. 4. 2 out of 3 mods must say yes in order for you to join. 5. Make the subject of your post "Not Fade Away" so that I know you've read the rules. 6. If you are accepted, you will be invited to join.
Rules for submission: please read before submitting icons 1. You must be accepted by 2 out of 3 mods in order to participate. 2. At the beginning of the 2-week period, one of the mods will put up a post, that signifies the start of the icon-submissions. 3. You may then post (post directly--you'll have posting access) up to 5 icons that you have made recently. We want your best icons. 4. Do not make icons specifically for iconmakerawards. We want icons that you've already posted in your journal. 5. Icons can be of any fandoms (television, movies, musicians), actresses, or actors. In other words, we don't want an icon of you with your puppy. 6. We will announce 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place; however, 2nd and 3rd place winners won't receive anything. There's not a Second-Best Icon-Maker award. Only a first. 7. You may post with only one icon, if you wish, and go back and edit it later with more. You can edit your icon submission post at any time, but it must have the 5 icons you want to enter by the last day of the 2-week period. So if you post 5 icons at the beginning of the week, and make another one you like better, then you can definitely change it, just as long as the 5 icons you want to be voted on are there at the time the voting post goes up.
Rules for voting: read thoroughly before voting 1. Members and non-members may vote. 2. A mod will put up a voting post containing all the icons that have been submitted. 3. Simply comment to the post with your top 3, in no order, to vote. Comments will be screened. 4. Voting will start Friday morning, and you'll have until Sunday night to cast your vote. 5. Do not vote for yourself. 6. Do not get your friends to vote for you. It's really not cool. 7. If you enter icons, YOU MUST VOTE. Your entered icons will be disqualified from winning if you don't vote.
